Crittendon vs Bing, Round 2

Rally in support of Krystal Crittendon at the Spirit of Detroit from 1pm - 1:30pm.

The City's favored lawyer, Krystal Crittendon will be the subject of discussion between Mayor Bing and City Council Friday June 22 at 2pm. It seems the righteous mainstream propaganda press has chosen to create her as problem in the midst of the Mayor's battle to appropriate the City's assets and turn them over to the State of Michigan and private interests, as directed by his personal legal counsel Mike McGee of Miller-Canfield.

The proceedings requested by Krystal Crittendon, Corporation Counsel to the City of Detroit, have been properly carried out and stopped by
government at the City and State levels. The City Charter was approved by the State of Michigan, Mayor's office, City Council and appointees to these representative governing bodies. The problem seems that some are using the City Charter as a guide that they can interpret as they wish versus a framework of law that is binding. This is why section 7.5 of the Charter spells out that Corporation Counsel is to be consulted on forming the law of the City. Krystal Crittendon has been doing her job and facing extreme prejudice in carrying out due process.

The Mayor has chosen to employ personal legal counsel through the law firm Miller-Canfield, and this has been at the expense of the public. During the negotiation of the Financial Stability Agreement (aka Consent Agreement) this outside legal counsel drafted the contract and made revisions, at an expense of $1 million to the City. This is the job of Corporation Counsel as indicated in section 7.5-206. The Mayor is at fault in ignoring the law of the City Charter.

We urge the public to appear and request comment cards upon entering the room on the 13th floor.    You have a voice in how lawful or lawless this city will be, it is time to be heard.
