Fuzzytek Photography is hosting a free campaign awareness photo event and inviting activists, protesters, and campaigners for issues & candidates to come to Red Door Gallery Sunday from 4:30pm - 8:00pm. All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate in the photo event.
It is OUR time to speak up, stand up, reach out, and vote. It is time to vote on the issues and representatives that we wish in government. It is time to stop the putrefaction of politics and demand integrity from those persons serving.
2) TEAM SHOOT - groups of 3-6 models/stylists to come up with a style statement that reminds people that they have a right to vote and it has taken hundreds of years to achieve this. We can not stand by silently and be robbed of the opportunity to speak through our vote. Allowing history to come through in your theme is appropriate.
3) CURRENT ISSUES - Lets talk about urban gardening, transportation issues, public schools, tall grass, public lighting and more through the images created. The neighborhood we are shooting in, Northend, is a
"Demonstration Area" for the Mayor's Detroit Works Project. That doesn't mean it is all cleaned up and looking pretty. There are issues everywhere you look here... shooting on the street to be common in this concept. There is even an urban farm started on Brush between Horton and Custer.
Location: Red Door Gallery, 7500 Oakland St, Detroit MI 48211
Contact: Stephen Boyle - Fuzzytek Photography at 313-626-8525 (phone/text preferred)
Bring: campaign apparel, posters, picket signs, buttons, hats, and more that demonstrate who you support.
Makeup / Hair Artists and Stylists are welcome to assist and participate in the photo event. This is not just for models or actors, although Fuzzytek has placed it in those circles of contacts. It is a photo event for all people. (Facebook event link | Model Mayhem link | G+ event link)
Photo releases will be filled out and images online made available. A disk of photos can be requested for $15 if picking up, $20 to be mailed.
Considering the timing of the shoot spans dinner - potluck options and donations toward food are welcome. We build community by caring for our common needs together.
