A Thank You from 48214

Hello Soldiers:

Out of Sight is not always out of mind.  I have completed this semester of classes at HFCC and all is well. Even though I couldn't or didn't attend meetings, council sessions and the like, it was not from lack of interest, that my presence was not seen.

I am writing to "personally, thank each and every one of you good souls for the great work that has gone on in the last week or so " and to say in no uncertain terms, "this is the beginning of the end, an end to the old and the beginning for the new"  In order that we seize the knowledge, bonds of friendship and kinship made during this regeneration of purpose, of our HUMAN RIGHTS, as Gandhi and other great leaders from the past have shown us, we must unite the people, wake them up but first we must wake up, right?

Having faith in action, knowing that your struggle is for justice and justice is a good thing often rooted in love and love and respect for all life, in my opinion is the call for this time.

In this microwave age, as the young people tell me, we have no time for grandstanding, personal agenda, only upstanding and the people's agenda.  In order that we support in love the people's agenda, we the soldiers of peace and love, must do the hard work of unifying and educating the 'lost and found'.  Some, of you know this language taught to us many years ago.  Look around, our teachers were correct and NOW IS THE TIME.

Honor our elders, James and Grace Boggs, Erma Henderson, Ralph Bunche, Rosa Parks, The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm X, Mumia Abu-Jamal the list goes on, each with something to teach us but maybe we should honor, not with only words, maybe with our ability to sit at the table together, organization and church, discuss if we must those issues that keep us divided, love and heal those wounds, while at the same time understanding that we are ALL in this one together and as Grace would remind us:  What time is it on the Clock of the World?"

It is certainly time for us in Detroit to organize, educate, become self-sufficient, self- governing to be an example of what is possible here, throughout America and the World.  For all not quite experienced in educating the people in the community, you received a taste of the task this past week.  We have much work to do and I am prepared to do all I can.  I hope that you will not become dismayed and join with me as we, Detroiters create the 'Next American Revolution' in Detroit.

Thank you, in solidarity

gloria j lowe, in peace and love
