Preview the Primary Ballot

If you are curious to see how the primary ballot is coming together you'll want to check out Primary.Publius.org, fill out the information it requests (name, city, and birth year - this allows the system to find you on the voter registration tables) and you'll then see a sample with live links for information on each candidate.

You'll also find information about your polling location - address, hours, and disability access. Clicking on a few check boxes will place an overlay on the map of your districts: US Congressional, Michigan State Senate, and State House.

Remember: NO VOTE, NO VOICE
Speak out through your vote!

Silence by failing to vote is apathy, compliance, and acceptance that you are willing to follow the choice of others. Absentee ballots are available to those who are unable to visit their polling location during the hours of operation when votes are being collected.

JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED
LET THE PEOPLE VOTE NOW

Updates on the Repeal of Public Act 4

June 14 the justices of the Court of Appeals denied convening a special panel to resolve conflict on the case that became known as "fontgate". Stand Up For Democracy had filed a writ of mandamus on May 3 to place the Repeal of PA4 on the ballot to be voted on by the people.

A motion was filed by Stand Up For Democracy on June 20 for the court order made by the Court of Appeals to be made with IMMEDIACY. This will suspend Emergency Managers across the state. The "scheduled" timeline for a court order is 42 days, however most court orders state they take place immediately. If we continue to wait for July 20 we remain in tyranny and perhaps worse. Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility and specifically the Chairperson of the Michigan Board of Ethics is working to escalate the case to the Michigan Supreme Court.

June 29 John Pirich on behalf of Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility filed with the State Supreme Court for immediate proceeding, seeking to be completed by September 7. July 5 a brief was filed by John Bursch for the Attorney General and Governor. July 6 a brief in opposition to the filing was made by Herb Sanders of Stand Up For Democracy.

War On The Poor

There is a state-wide land-grab underway lead predominantly by Republican interests as a WAR ON THE POOR with a racist agenda as those communities targeted have a majority population of African Americans. Without immediacy the clock is ticking, and the games being played by the current administration could make the the victory of the order to place the referendum on the ballot a shallow victory that could dry up. The referendum could sit in the court system so long that it fails to meet the August 27 deadline with the Secretary of State. Please note the requested completion date offered by John Pirich in the filing is September 7. This requested delay of justice is a clear statement of intent, such that taking this case to the federal courts is required.

How Deep is the Dirt in Michigan?

April 12 Governor Rick Snyder appointed Judge Lawrence Glazer, of Okemos, Albert Nelson Jr., of Troy, and Joseph Walker, of Bingham Farms, to the State Board of Ethics. John Pirich, already serving on the board, will serve as chair for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.

John D. Pirich, ESQ. is chairman of the State of Michigan Board of Ethics, and is one of the lawyers representing Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility and opposed to the Repeal of PA4 going onto the ballot (as noted above). An ethics complaint against John D Pirich, esq was filed with the state board on May 5, 2012. This complaint was dismissed by the secretary and not taken in by the board. Read more on the Democracy Tree blog [May 6] [June 21]

“Complaint:  John D. Pirich, Michigan State Board of Ethics Chair, knowingly and willfully violated Section 2, Subsection 4 of Act 196 of 1973, commonly the “State Ethics Act”.
Pirich accepted compensation for services that benefited Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility, a political action committee, which upon Pirich’s counsel provided flawed evidence of dubious origins (see attachments) that was used to unduly and unethically create bias among members of the Michigan Board of State Canvassers in their April 26, 2012 decision as to the certification of the petition signatures gathered by the ballot question committee Stand Up for Democracy.”

The people have to rise up and SPEAK. Without speaking, without reaching out, and without marching you are allowing your rights to be taken away.

New Detroit Corporate Empire

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and his accomplices have an agenda — the Rape of Detroit. Extract anything that is good and decent from the city, sell it off to the wardens of a new Detroit Corporate Empire.

The people have a choice, either:
  1. Lay down and submit, Consent to Agree
  2. Stand up, educate, use the law, and Fight Back
This is why Free Detroit - No Consent was formed. The people of the city are not willing victims in this “Consent Agreement”, WE DO NOT CONSENT. We the people are being enslaved by this system.

Friday, June 22 Mayor Bing asked for a Special Meeting with City Council to remove Corporation Counsel Krystal Crittendon. He needs six votes from council, council denied him that June 11. This was his second attempt.

Public comments were heard for about a half hour and the Mayor couldn’t handle the heat. Each person coming to speak was supportive of the lawyer and reinforced that she was doing her job, yet the Mayor was not doing his job. He has continued to operate outside the law of the City Charter. The people have had enough!

The Mayor claimed to have a phone conference he had to be on with Washington DC. He interrupted public comments twice. Council President Charles Pugh asked the Mayor if he would return so the meeting could be kept open. The Mayor was not specific and left.

Forty five minutes later a representative from the Mayor’s office spoke with press who were in the room and asked them to come to the 11th floor for a press conference. The people were waiting, City Council was waiting while this happened. The Mayor put the city on hold while he spoke to the press - then he did not return to complete the meeting. City Council closed the meeting around 4pm. It had started at 2pm.

The Mayor continues to exercise privilege of the press in portraying the residents of the city in a degrading manner, indicating Friday's meeting was a "sideshow"[1][2][3][4].

Mayor Bing several times has stated he no longer consults with Corporation Counsel as required by the City Charter (sec 7.5-201.1). Changes approved to the Charter in January 2012 (sec 7.5) clearly state Corporation Counsel and the Auditor General are independent of all branches of the government. This change was made to prevent corruption. Mayor Bing employs legal counsel from Miller-Canfield. Is the money to do this coming from the City Budget? Would that mean the City is on the line for Miller-Canfield's bill or are they working pro bono for the mayor? What contracts and receipts are in the city's books? All contracts are to be filed with Corporation Counsel (sec 7.5-206).

Miller-Canfield is a law firm we will show  to be in collusion with the State of Michigan, and Court system in the enslaving of the poor. There has been a focus on communities that are predominantly black. Miller-Canfield attorney Mike McGee is Mayor Bing's top choice - he wrote the changes to Public Act 4 creating a dictatorship when an Emergency Manager was placed; he drafted and revised the Financial Stability Agreement along with Ernst Young (each making $1 million in that process); and we'll have more information as investigation continues. How can a person so close to State law be placed in a position guiding the Mayor? This is all about creating a corporate empire within the State of Michigan, that is able to subjugate the people with government, rather then serve the public. They will interpret the law rather than follow it - watch for this and call it out when it happens.

Free Detroit started on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination, which is the date (April 4, 2012) that the Consent Agreement was approved 5-4 by City Council. It wasn’t a super-majority, nor was it placed to the people for a vote. We are now enslaved by a system that demonstrates Taxation without Representation. We intend to fight on many fronts.

Free Detroit has created an Ethics Complaint that can be downloaded, signed, notarized, and turned in with the Board of Ethics. We are seeking to have Mayor Bing and his accomplices removed from office and legal proceedings held against him that may land him in prison as available through the Charter. The next Board of Ethics meeting is July 27 (see calendar), please have your complaint turned in through Free Detroit by Monday July 23rd. Your complaint needs to be notarized and we would like to know how many are being turned in. Contact: 313-444-0061 or info@freedetroit.org for assistance or to help in the process.

Crittendon vs Bing, Round 2

Rally in support of Krystal Crittendon at the Spirit of Detroit from 1pm - 1:30pm.

The City's favored lawyer, Krystal Crittendon will be the subject of discussion between Mayor Bing and City Council Friday June 22 at 2pm. It seems the righteous mainstream propaganda press has chosen to create her as problem in the midst of the Mayor's battle to appropriate the City's assets and turn them over to the State of Michigan and private interests, as directed by his personal legal counsel Mike McGee of Miller-Canfield.

The proceedings requested by Krystal Crittendon, Corporation Counsel to the City of Detroit, have been properly carried out and stopped by
